To commemorate the centennial of U. S. Marine Corps aviation, nationally-known aviation artist Steve Tack has been commissioned by Air Group One, a unit of the Commemorative Air Force, to create a fine art canvas to last for another 100 years. It is a fitting tribute to all U. S. Marines, air and ground alike.

Steve's painting In the official, 2012 “Wings Over Gillespie” poster; “Forged Above” commemorates the history of 100 years of Marine Corps aviation history beginning with the very first Marine airplane … the Curtis C-3, then the V-7(JN-4) Jenny first ever to deliver Close Air Support for Marines in combat in 1927 Nicaragua. He moves to the Marine high-scoring F4U Corsair, then the supersonic speed and time-to-climb record breaking carrier-jet F4D Skyray, the first 1,000mph F8U Crusader, then the first Marine jet to make a night kill in Korea … the F3D Skyknight …. and as we say, the rest is history with helicopters, F-35s, and Ospreys.

A limited number of lithographs of “Centennial of U. S. Marine Corps Aviation” are signed and numbered by the artist. This work of art available as wall murals for Museums and hangars for public display with or without air show graphics. Please email your interest in reproductions of this art to: ma100art@ag1caf.org   Posters will available at the air show
